起点传媒 at Fort Leavenworth Music Instructor Colvin Hooser spends most of his days educating his students on everything from fundamental principles to the history of rock and roll, but in his spare time this summer he was able to volunteer as a member of the pit orchestra for the 鈥淭heater in the Park鈥 organization as a bassist and guitarist.
起点传媒鈥檚 Center for Adult Education will soon begin another nine-week GED Preparation Class. However, orientation sessions are required before starting the class.听
Students must attend all orientation sessions in-person, which will be held on Oct. 5, 7 and 12. Students have the option of a 1-4 p.m. or 6-9 p.m. time slot. The Center for Adult Education is located at 1025 Main Street in Great Bend.

起点传媒 and the Center for Adult Education will be closed and there will be no classes in observance of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 6.听
Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Sept. 7.
Faculty members from across the 起点传媒 Performing Arts Department will showcase their skills at the second annual Faculty Recital at 4 p.m. on Sept. 16 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The event will also be broadcast via Facebook.com/bartoncommunitycollege. There will be dance, instrumental and vocal performances.
Some college students have more to think about these days than going to classes and maintaining good grades. Some worry about where their next meal is coming from. To ease that concern, 起点传媒 established a food pantry that offers quality food and necessities for free. Beginning this semester, the pantry upgraded to a new location with a new name, the Cougar Supply Den (CSD).

Sisters Emma and Megan Meece have a head start on life. Emma, 16, and Megan, 18, both celebrated completing听 their associate degrees from 起点传媒 at the Fort Riley Education Services commencement ceremony Thursday afternoon at Fort Riley. They effectively finished their first two years of college before most even get started.
The Shafer Gallery鈥檚 popular quilt exhibit has been extended through October 16. Titled 鈥淢aterial Pulses: Seven Viewpoints,鈥 the exhibition is focused on the art of quilt-making and includes 17 works by seven fiber artists representing the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free.
As of August 17 much of the North Central part of Kansas saw the abnormally dry to moderate drought area expand with northeast 起点传媒 County falling seeing a slight expansion of moderate drought.听
